Idiopathic hypersomnia is a sleep disorder that causes extreme daytime sleepiness with no known cause. UCSF is running clinical studies that test new medicines for safety and to see if sleepiness decreases. These studies record side effects, sleepiness scores, and lab tests at clinic visits.
