A knee cartilage injury means damage to the knee's cushioning. UCSF is testing NOVOCART 3D, a new treatment, against an existing one called Microfracture. This study focuses on how well it eases pain.

    This study is to compare NOVOCART 3D relative to Microfracture for the treatment of knee cartilage defects. Efficacy will be evaluated by both pain and function. Safety will also be evaluated.
