Leiomyoma are non-cancerous growths that develop in the uterus. UCSF is running trials to see if letrozole is more effective than a placebo in treating these growths. This research is part of ongoing efforts to find reliable treatments for leiomyoma.

The PLUM Study is a randomized, double-blinded, 2-arm, parallel-group, placebo-controlled trial is designed to compare the efficacy of letrozole versus placebo on leiomyoma-related symptoms and quality of life as well as leiomyoma and uterine size.
