Mpox clinical trials at UCSF

Mpox is a virus that can cause rashes and flu-like symptoms. UCSF is conducting research to see if the drug tecovirimat can treat mpox. Participants in the study receive either tecovirimat or a placebo to compare results.

A5418 is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study to establish the efficacy of tecovirimat for the treatment of people with laboratory-confirmed or presumptive HMPXV disease.
