Wheezing is a whistling noise heard when someone breathes. UCSF is testing a daily medicine called OM-85 in children who often wheeze. The study compares this treatment to a placebo to check its safety and effectiveness.
Daily OM-85 in Young Children with Recurrent Wheezing

This study will assess the efficacy and safety of daily OM-85 treatment compared to placebo in children aged 6 months to 5 years with recurrent wheezing

Oral Bacterial Extract for the Prevention of Wheezing Lower Respiratory Tract Illness

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate if Broncho-Vaxom® given to high risk infants for 10 days, monthly, for two consecutive years can increase time to occurrence of the first episode of wheezing lower respiratory tract illness (WLRI) during a three year observation period off therapy.
