Anoxic-ischemic encephalopathy occurs when the brain is harmed by too little oxygen. UCSF is conducting studies to see if certain brain wave patterns can help treat long-lasting seizures after heart stoppages. Researchers are comparing how controlled brain wave bursts affect epilepsy treatment safety.
