Mesothelioma clinical trials at UCSF

7 in progress, 3 open to eligible people

Showing trials for
  • A Study of XmAb®20717 in Subjects With Selected Advanced Solid Tumors

open to eligible people ages 18 years and up

This is a Phase 1, multiple dose, ascending dose escalation study to define a MTD/RD and regimen of XmAb20717, to describe safety and tolerability, to assess PK and immunogenicity, and to preliminarily assess anti-tumor activity of XmAb20717 in subjects with selected advanced solid tumors.

  • Ph 2/3 Study in Subjects With MPM to Assess ADI-PEG 20 With Pemetrexed and Cisplatin

open to eligible people ages 18 years and up

This is a study of ADI-PEG 20 (pegylated arginine deiminase), an arginine degrading enzyme versus placebo in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma. Malignant pleural mesothelioma have been found to require arginine, an amino acid. Thus the hypothesis is that by restricting arginine with ADI-PEG 20, the malignant pleural mesothelioma cells will starve and die.

  • Phase 1/2 Trial of Gavo-cel (TC-210) in Patients With Advanced Mesothelin-Expressing Cancer

open to eligible people ages 18 years and up

Gavocabtagene autoleucel (gavo-cel; TC-210) is a novel cell therapy that consists of autologous genetically engineered T cells expressing a single-domain antibody that recognizes human Mesothelin, fused to the CD3-epsilon subunit which, upon expression, is incorporated into the endogenous T cell receptor (TCR) complex. This Phase 1/2 study aims to establish the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) and subsequently determine an overall response rate in patients with advanced mesothelin-expressing cancers.

  • Efficacy & Safety of rAd-IFN Administered With Celecoxib & Gemcitabine in Patients With Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma

Sorry, in progress, not accepting new patients

This study will evaluate intrapleural administration of Adenovirus-Delivered Interferon Alpha-2b (rAd-IFN) in combination with Celecoxib and Gemcitabine in patients with histologically confirmed Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma (MPM) who have failed a minimum of 1 treatment regimen and a maximum of 2 treatment regimens, 1 of which must have been an anti-folate and platinum combination regimen. Eligible patients will be randomized 1:1 to either: 1. Treatment group: rAd-IFN + Celecoxib followed by Gemcitabine 2. Control group: Celecoxib followed by Gemcitabine Patients randomized to the treatment group will receive rAd-IFN administered into the pleural space via an Intrapleural catheter (IPC) or similar intrapleural device on study Day 1. The primary objective of this study is to compare the overall survival (OS) associated with rAd IFN, when administered with celecoxib and gemcitabine, versus that associated with celecoxib and gemcitabine alone for the treatment of patients with MPM

  • Pemetrexed Disodium/Observation in Treating Patients W/ Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma w/Out Progressive Disease After 1st Line Chemotherapy

Sorry, in progress, not accepting new patients

RATIONALE: Pemetrexed disodium may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well pemetrexed disodium or observation works in treating patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma without progressive disease after first-line chemotherapy.

  • Randomized, Double-blind Study Comparing Tremelimumab to Placebo in Subjects With Unresectable Malignant Mesothelioma

Sorry, in progress, not accepting new patients

This is a Phase 2b, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group study. Subjects with unresectable pleural or peritoneal malignant mesothelioma will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to receive either tremelimumab or placebo. Approximately 564 subjects will be enrolled at study centers in multiple countries. The study consists of a screening period, a treatment period, a 90-day follow-up period for safety, and a long-term survival follow-up period.

  • Study of Nivolumab Combined With Ipilimumab Versus Pemetrexed and Cisplatin or Carboplatin as First Line Therapy in Unresectable Pleural Mesothelioma Patients

Sorry, in progress, not accepting new patients

The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness and tolerability of the combination of Nivolumab and Ipilimumab compared to Pemetrexed and Cisplatin or Carboplatin in patients with unresectable pleural mesothelioma.
